Rainy random day

Ummm, a few random notes. We’ve been going to Trader Joe’s for fun. Last trip produced a bag full of hummus and turbot. Fun.

I’m looking forward to a year off–that is, a year to make some money, finish my dissertation, and read a few books. And that feels like a year off to me.

I enjoy rainy days, as does the cat, who spent most of the afternoon outside getting soaked. I probably would do the same if I weren’t so worried about silly things like getting muddy footprints on the carpet. My life would be easier, if I could only be a bit more cat-like…

My undergrad advisor called to check in on my internship results. He was dismayed, but not disappointed and seconds my plans for the year. And since he’ll be the President of a national neuropsychological academy next year and offerred to write me a letter for my next round of applications, I think I’ll let him.

Many thanks to Paul for BBQing in the rain.

He sounds like a good friend to have!

With a year “off” you’ll have no good excuse for not reading the heads on pikes books.

Sounds like the cat fairs better in the rain than Boo does. You think she’d go in her doghouse and stay dry…but noooo, she has to run around like an idiot and get all wet.

    Good job Paul.

I often wondered what it would be like if I purred like a cat, i’d imagine it’d be strange to just start vibrating all of the sudden if i got mad or happy… the ability to see in the dark and walk sideways on furniture… all things which would come in handy i’m sure…

The trader joe’s garlic hummus is super garlicly good, and the olive hummus tastes like it’s 80% olives… both are my favs…

We got a little grill which fits on the balcony and is not too offensive (no more random flame / hot spots!!)… so I made bbq chicken with claim jumper bbq sauce, lori pressure cooked artichokes which i seasoned and grilled along with safron rice… it was the nummers and it’s also fun bbq’ing in the rain, under dry cover!
