Just finished a midterm on culture, Christianity and various forms of fundamentalism / In honor of my Nazarene heritage (which I don’t know all that much about) / Thursday
Thursday: 'th&rz-dE, -(")dA
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Old English thursdæg, from Old Norse thOrsdagr; akin to Old English thunresdæg Thursday, Old Norse ThOrr Thor, Old English thunor thunder — more at THUNDER : the fifth day of the week
So, really, today is ‘Thor’ day–A day to celebrate the Norse god of thunder. Just when I though I could avoid being a pagan by abstaining from Halloween celebrations and Harry Potter novels. Darn. What’s next, mephistophelesday?
I don’t know what motivated that. I don’t think I have any hard-line fundamentalist Christian readers. I could be wrong. Take that, fundy!
Tomorrow, thank Zeus, is Friday. Bet you can’t guess what that post will include. I plan to spend my Friday night engaging in number of heathenistic activities, which may include imbibing alcohol, and playing games utilizing dot-covered tiles. These devil’s instruments are referred to as dominos.
Ok, make senseless remarks below. Then let me know if you’d like to come to our Friday night reveling.

I know that I wouldn’t have been able to go swimming with girls back in the day. Only because Mom was talking about our Nazarene heritage on Easter. I dunno what we’re doing Friday, but Dominos sound fun.

I am always down for Dominos, let me know if you want me to bring anything else that would be considered heathenistic .
