Memorial Day

The flag is up today. A small gesture. I’d like to get to the cemetery for a memorial service for the fallen next year. A little Mr. Rogers:

The values we care about the deepest, and the movements within society that support those values, command our love. When those things that we care about so deeply become endangered, we become enraged. And what a healthy thing that is! Without it, we would never stand up and speak out for what we believe.

Many thanks to the fallen and their families, whose courage to stand up cost them their lives and livelihoods, but purchased our freedom.

Well said. Today I remember my friends who have died while serving in the military.

We are not a better country without them, but we are a far better country because of them.
