Aye Aye, Cap’n!

After a bit of Golden Spoon, Paul and Sarah and Andrew and I went through the drive through at Arby’s. We pull up to the speaker discussing how ‘Arby’s’ can be rendered very piratical with proper pronunciation.

Paul (leaning across his wife toward the speaker): AAARRRR-beees!

James (Arby’s employee. Not a pirate): Can I help you…matey?

Shiver me timbers. Arby’s has the best service ever.

Was it a very happy “matey” or a more sarcastic I’ve heard this a million times “matey”?

He sounded amused, if slightly puzzled. He rapidly decided we were just a group of good kids out for some harmless fun. Oh, and when we pulled up to the window, he had a parrot on his shoulder.
