Bibliophiles Anonymous: Literary Addiction Enablement

I’d started this list on Amazon–a wish list–of things I really want. I’ve lately discovered a love for the works of E. Phillips Oppenheim, the British mystery/intrigue writer. As far as I can tell, most of his works are no longer in print. I’ve purchased one ‘omnibus,’ which is what they call a big collection of novels/short stories typically (as far as I can tell) by a British author. It was published in 1936 and is in lovely condition. I paid $12. Almost every other one of Oppenheim’s numerous books available on Amazon is a used hardback, which means I could put them on my wish list, only there are 151 books and I haven’t got all day. So, here’s where you come in. Whether you want to buy me a birthday present or just help me locate an easier way to buy these books, here is a list of the books I have.

The Wrath to Come; The Great Impersonation; Gabriel Samara, Peacemaker; Mr. Billingham, the Marquis and Madelon; The Bamboozling of Mr. Gascoigne; The Numbers of Death; Mrs. Block Contributes; The Cafe of Terror; The Royal Game; Blood-Money; The Symbol in the Boot; The Salvation of Mr. Norton; The Stink Wizard; Christian, the Concierge.

I would like to own the other 137 titles.

A complete list of his extensive writings is available here and another good list here.

My wish list is available here. Normally I would refrain from being so forward about publicizing a list of possessions I wish others to help me acquire, but they’re books, and I have a disease, and the only prescription…is a few more hundred pages.

I understand the disease. It’s the same one I have and I have many books that I on my shelf that I haven’t even read yet. Currently I working on War and Peace, the only problem is that the print is too small, so I can only read a few pages at a time.
