Hope nobody gets trampled while people rush to the phone…

That’s a quote from a post in October 2005 entitled Mount Everest in Miniature. I had just sent in my first internship application, was feeling like I was attempting the impossible (as it proved I was), and was seriously doubting that the process would ever end. Well, it is now one year later, and the process is technically still ongoing, but things are finally starting to look up.

All applications got Fedexed to internship sites well ahead of deadlines this year. Sites have to respond with offers of interviews by Dec. 15th, but I got my first interview offer today. So we’ll be going to Phoenix for a few days in mid-December. This is a promising turn of events and, as always, I hope no phone-related tramplings occur as I receive my bevy of interview offers.
