San Diego. Lori M gets her selfish wish and I get to spend the year at a placement I really love. I’ll spend half my time at the VA (which is really medical school run) doing Behavioral Medicine Treatment, and half my time at the Medical Center doing Senior Behavioral Health (neuropsych assessment and interdisciplinary team treatment). We love the area and I’m looking forward to the year a lot, which begins July 1st. I’ll make some phone calls as soon as I hear from the training director at UCSD/VA, who should call soon.

Hooray! July 1st means you start AND GET DONE sooner. San Diego is a great place, for those of us who will miss you, to have a little weekend gettaway. My work actually owes me a Hotel del Coranado stay as a 20 year employee reward. I might go someplace else with that and stay somewhere more reasonable when I visit you in San Diego, though.
I’m excited for you and trust this is truly THE placement you were meant to have, cuz that’s just the way God does things.

WHOO HOO!!! Yes, selfish, but more importantly that this was one of your top choices and that it will not take you too far from your families. I’m so happy for you.

I am glad you are finally placed. San Diego is way better than Downey!

Way to go! After a year you finally got it. Glad to hear you are still going to be in Sunny California where you can still go surfing and see your family.
