I love filling out applications. Maybe it’s a symptom developed during excessive years of schooling, or maybe its a sign of unhealthy self-interest, but I love filling out forms which tell other people everything they never wanted to know about me. First for work, then for volunteer opportunities at church: My opportunities to document ME ME ME have been plentiful lately.

I always particularly love describing how I have never committed any felonies. It feels like such an accomplishment. I’ve been alive nearly 30 years now, and for every day of those three decades I have had the sense and character not to engage in any behavior punishable by law with incarceration in a federal prison. Wow. My good citizenship is legendary.
